Before I go in to how I looked after it and allowed it to heal, I should probably say that in November 2011, my grandparents were in Portugal when my Grandad fell ill and had to come home. Before I knew it, at the age of 16, my Grandad had terminal lung cancer and 3 weeks to live. 3 days later he was gone. My Grandad was always very special to me, and I miss him more and more everyday so having a tattoo is my little way to feel okay when I'm nervous or scared because it just reminds me of him.
From top to bottom was the day I had it done (hence the blood) on the 26th March 2014 to the bottom which is today 10th May 2014.
I found the best way was to take the cling film off after a few hours and air it out. I didn't apply any cream until I'd had it about 2 days to allow it to heal. You have to remember that it is a wound, so like a scab, you have to just leave it. I used E45 about 3 times a day after 2 days. I sis have some small scabs and a big one on the G. The scabs all fell off after about a week, however I did knock a large one off my G when I got out the shower one day so have got a small gap. I did get told to wash it with anti bacterial soap, but because I didn't want to knock my scabs off if they were too wet I washed my hands then patted water on it to keep it clean and let it air dry.
I really do love it and I'm very happy with it.
